What's it all about, Alfie?

This isn't about music... old song title aside.

I'm actually pondering life tonight.

What's it all about?

Are we here to get ours and the heck with everyone else?

If you watch TV you'd come away thinking that. Television pushes greed, sex, and violence... and then seems shocked when people buy into the concept.

Are we here to learn something, a lesson our souls need to learn before moving on to whatever comes next?

I don't know but I've got to wonder about what my life says about what I need to learn.

Sometimes I feel like I've been plunked down in the middle of an alien landscape and I don't understand those creatures around me, nor am I sure I want to understand.

Is there a grand plan at work here? Or are we, as so many people seem to believe, victims of random chance, going through meaningless motions that end up in the dead end of a grave?

Again, I have no answers, simply questions.

Perhaps we're here to do as Jesus suggested - love one another. Care for each other.

I don't know... but if I could choose which reality is the truth, it'd be the last one.
